 Merigold and Cosmos -
the flowers of October

Marigolds are known for their bright colors and strong odor and have long been associated with death and grief. They are a prominent fixture in Day of the Dead festivities, used to decorate grave sites and home altars.
The Almanac.com the aster and morning glory, couldn’t be more different. Asters bring cheerful, daisy-like blooms to the garden as summer fades into fall, while morning glories climb and unfurl their trumpet-shaped flowers with the rising sun. Both flowers have rich histories and fascinating symbolism, from love and wisdom to devotion and hope.

Asters have long been a symbol of love, wisdom, patience, and beauty. The aster has also been associated with faith, friendship, and purity.
Cosmos is a symbol of order, balance, peace, and innocence. They represent luck and have many medicinal purposes.

Opal and Tourmaline -
The birthstone of August

MyBirthStone.org
Opal has a unique "play-of-color" (a shifting display of spectral hues caused by light diffracting through microscopic silica spheres). Tourmaline has the broadest color range of any gemstone family.

Opal's shifting rainbow colors stand for hope and possibility. Light and color emerge even from the darkest stone.

Pink tourmaline (rubellite) and fire opal are linked to matters of the heart, encouraging compassion and emotional connection.
